For customers
What it means when a business uses RelayLocal.
RelayLocal can appear at more than one point in a local service journey: a private handover from one business to another, a customer booking with the chosen service business, or a supported payment/refund record. Each stage has its own controls and responsibilities.
Your details are only shared with your permission. Customer contact details move through a consent workflow — you are informed and asked before anything is passed on.
You stay in control. You remain free to decide whether to proceed with a referral, and free to decline.
RelayLocal is not the service provider. The business you choose remains responsible for its service, price, booking terms and any remedy it is required to provide.
Bookings can stay connected. If that business enables RelayLocal Bookings, you can choose a supported appointment time, review its current terms and use Stripe-hosted checkout where payment is required.
A paid booking is not a dead end. Supported booking concerns can be recorded from the private booking-management path so the business response, refund and external payment-dispute evidence remain connected.
Common questions
A business you contacted may be unable to take on your work but wants to offer a controlled private handover instead of leaving you to restart your search. RelayLocal can provide the customer-facing Trust Pass used for that ordinary referral.
